Pretty Boys formed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New
York in the Fall of 2004. Williamsburg is where they holed up nite
after nite till dawn’s early light laying down trax for the debut
Pretty Boys full length entitled Ghetto Rock. A neighborhood that
is host to hipsters looking for cheap rent, old Italian families,
Latino homeboys and plenty of crime became the perfect backdrop for
the Pretty Boys to tell their stories in true rock n roll form.
Pretty Boys is a rock machine fronted by former members of Candy Ass
and Sexpod. Musically and visually they are masters of seduction,
leading you down dark alleys to their world, the wrong side of town.
The vivid imagination, all seeing eyes and richly textured voice of
singer/lyricist Galadriel Masterson splashes unexpected color
combinations over the thunderous and complex lyrical bass of Alice
Genese along with Hopey Rock's guitar that cry's and screams and
holds down the storm. The three part vocal harmonies of these
musicians transforms the story telling to booming heights. Imagine
the Andrew Sisters singing over the music of Velvet Revolver.
Together these seasoned songwriters combine their influences to take
you on the emotional journey of the lives they have lead
individually and the life they share in New York City. They’ve all
been around the block both personally and musically and the
experiences they track are riveting.
Collectively the history
of the individuals who make up Pretty Boys adds up to touring
through 17 countries, all 50 states and the release of 9 albums as
well as countless soundtracks, compilations, TV appearances and mag
n rag credits. Ghetto Rock promises to be a soundtrack-esque
album that will become a shiny blade of light to penetrate the
current music world of disposable blandness.
